Elaine is currently on maternity leave from the clinic. We look forward to welcoming her back when she is ready.
Elaine is a New Zealand trained Osteopathic Practitioner. She grew up in West Kelowna and moved back to the Okanagan in 2016 to practice osteopathy after living overseas in NZ for 7 years.
She has completed 5 years of full time osteopathic training, earning a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Human Biology) and a Masters degree in Osteopathy at Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. Prior to studying osteopathy, she completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON.
After completing her studies, Elaine practiced as an Osteopathic Practitioner for two years in Auckland at an osteopathic clinic. During this time she completed additional postgraduate training in Pediatrics, and Osteopathy in the Cranial Field.
Elaine enjoys working with a wide array of clients and believes in personalized treatments and advice for each client. She passionately believes that osteopathy provides a unique way of looking at chronic issues by treating the root of the problem, not simply the symptoms.
Elaine has an interest in how other body systems can play a role in creating or maintaining musculoskeletal conditions. Such as, breathing mechanics and how dysfunctional breathing patterns can have a widespread effect on the body. She also has a special interest in women’s health, including pre and postnatal care, as well as babies and children.
Personally, Elaine enjoys traveling and experiencing other cultures, as well as, hiking, snowboarding and yoga. Her yoga practice has allowed her to gain a better understanding of breathing, posture and how the body moves in a functional way.
