What Is Sports Taping and how does it help?
Put simply, sports or athletic taping is the process of applying a tape directly to the skin in order to maintain stability during physical activity, such as sports.
When taping an injury, a pressure-sensitive athletic tape is wrapped around an injured or weak muscle or joint, reducing pain, protecting the area and aiding in recovery. Taping is often used to help in the recovery from overuse injuries. By restricting the motion of an injured joint and compressing the soft tissues around it, sports or athletic taping reduces swelling and supports anatomical structures, protecting the injured joint from re-injury.
